In English my name is derived from a flower, in Italian it's an ever green tree with fragrant rose like flowers. My middle name comes from the first for letters of my birth name, Rose. It means peaceful, it means patient, it's like the number 16. A bright color, it's the soft pitter patter of the rain on my window as a spirit enters the world. A mothers soft lullaby, the sweet melody. It was my mothers favorite name & now it's mine. It fits like pieces of a puzzle, two perfect lovers with their fingers intertwined, a mother to its child, like two halves of a heart. It represents me in ways only true eyes can perceive. It's the way an artists' hand embraces his paint brush, how a tagger spray paints his passion, around the world they say my name funny; like it's a rare species brought to society for the first time in history. It's the peace after the war, It's a song whispered like a secret; when it passes through his lips it's soft; like and angels' touch, newly fallen snow, freshly picked strawberries on a warm summers' day. It's that passionate feeling you get from your first kiss, it's real emotion, the spirit of creativity, a single rain drop dangling from a rose petal flushed with pink. It's a singers voice with the potential to be great. I am Kamelia; known only as one other name, Real. Because that's what I am, I am me & I wouldn't have it any other way.

DO NOT STAND AT MY GRAVE & WEEP
Do not stand at my grave & weep.
I am not there I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle Autumn rain.
When you wake in the morning hush.
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave & cry.
I am not there, I did not die.

DADDY'S POEM
Her hair was up in a pony tail, her favorite dress tied with a bow.Today was Daddy's Day at school, and she couldn't wait to go. But her mommy tried to tell her, that she probably should stay home. Why the kids might not understand, if she went to school alone. But she was not afraid; she knew just what to say. What to tell her classmates of why he wasn't there today. But still her mother worried, for her to face this day alone. And that was why once again, she tried to keep her daughter home. But the little girl went to school, eager to tell them all.
About a dad she never sees, a dad who never calls. There were daddies along the wall in back, for everyone to meet. Children were squirming impatiently, anxious in their seats. One by one the teacher called, a student from the class, to introduce their daddy. As seconds slowly passed, at last the teacher called her name,
every child turned to stare. Each of them was searching, for a man who wasn't there. "Where's her daddy at?"
she heard a boy call out. "She probably doesn't have one," another student dared to shout. And from somewhere near the back, she heard a daddy say, "Looks like another deadbeat dad, too busy to waste his day. "The words did not offend her, as she smiled up at her Mom. And looked back at her teacher, who told her to go on. And with hands behind her back, slowly she began to speak. And out from the mouth of a child, came words incredibly unique. "My Daddy couldn't be here, because he lives so far away. But I know he wishes he could be, since this is such a special day. And though you cannot meet him, I wanted you to know. All about my daddy, and how much he loves me so. He loved to tell me stories he taught me to ride my bike. He surprised me with pink roses, and taught me to fly a kite. We used to share fudge sundaes, and ice cream in a cone. And though you cannot see him, I'm not standing here alone. "Cause my daddy's always with me, even though we are apart. I know because he told me, he'll forever be in my heart. " With that, her little hand reached up, and lay across her chest. Feeling her own heartbeat, beneath her favorite dress. And from somewhere in the crowd of dads, her mother stood in tears. Proudly watching her daughter, who was wise beyond her years. For she stood up for the love of a man not in her life. Doing what was best for her, doing what was right. And when she dropped her hand back down, staring straight into the crowd, she finished with a voice so soft, but its message clear and loud. "I love my daddy very much, he's my shining star. And if he could, he'd be here, but heaven's just too far! You see he was a fireman and died just this past year when airplanes hit the towers and taught Americans to fear. "But sometimes when I close my eyes, it's like he never went away." And then she closed her eyes, and saw him there that day. And to her mother's amazement, she witnessed with surprise, a room full of daddies and children, all starting to close their eyes. Who knows what they saw before them, who knows what they felt inside. Perhaps for merely a second, they saw him at her side. "I know you're with me Daddy," to the silence she called out. And what happened next made believers, of those once filled with doubt. Not one in that room could explain it, for each of their eyes had been closed. But there on the desk beside her, was a fragrant long-stemmed pink rose. And a child was blessed, if only for a moment, by the love of her shining bright star. And given the gift of believing, that heaven is never too far.

THE REAL WORLD

What I've experienced in life- Being born, having a childhood (full of scrapped knees, bruised elbows, shoes full of sand, rolling down the hill, swinging on swings, learning how to ride a bike, learning how to swim for the first time, being afraid of the dark, and having a pet for the first time). Growing into a teenager (experiencing going to Jr. High/High school for the first time, bullying, overcoming your fear, experiencing new things, first love, heartbreak, first date, new challenges, & many more things. My life is like a roller coaster: I have many ups and downs in my life but I'm willing to enjoy the ride because one day it will come to an end & I'll wish I would have let go & enjoyed the ride.

Embarassment

Embarrassing moments... Let's start with 3rd grade: I was playing basket ball outside with my friends my friend stepped on the bottom of my pants & I went to run & I totally bift it plus ripping my pants. Another is when I was in 4th grade & I was really into sports but my mom wanted me to be pretty & girly so she bought me frilly nice shirts & made me wear them. The day I wore it I was running through the field playing capture the flag & my shirt got caught on the stupid fence & ripped right off... TOO EMBARRASSING! Let's just say after that I ripped 4 more & my mom stopped buying them. Another time is when I was at my sisters house & she was pregnant & tried to run up the stairs but she fell & almost peed her pants... Awkward. But then right after she called me from upstairs & I went to run up the stairs, slipped on a plastic hanger & fell back down the stairs.. She died laughing.. So all I have to say is I've had A LOT of EMBARRASSING moments & I'm sure there's more to come.

Jealousy

Jealousy, what makes me jealous? Where do I even begin? I get jealous when my mom chooses favorites and it's not me, when everyone decides to go somewhere fun & I'm not invited, when I tell people about something really cool & they don't give me credit, when my boyfriend talks to other girls, when my best friend calls someone else their best friend, when a girl is prettier than me & people compliment her so much, when people make getting good grades look so easy & I'm struggling to barely pass, when my friends talk about how great their boyfriend/ girlfriend is, when I'm stuck being a 3rd wheel, when I see cute couples at the mall holding hands, when my bestfriend has a boyfriend that treats her like the world, when someone can do what I do but 100X better... So let's just say I get jealous easy because people are better than me at so many things, the only thing I can do is be the best I can be and if it's not good enough for them then that's their problem.

STRESS

Stress.. What causes stress? People and things... People cause stress because they always expect something out of you whether it be good or bad, the good things they expect you to do/be is a good student, get good grades, go to college, get a good job, start a family, & give them grandchildren. The bad they expect is you doing drugs, getting pregnant/someone else pregnant at a young age, dropping out, or never doing anything with your life... There always an expectations for something... Also, things cause stress, too much homework, your self image, organizing your life, getting from one place to another without a car, finding time to do everything you need to get done, having a dirty house/room/car... Too many things are stressful and I guess that's just life.

DREAMS

Dreams, they are where your mind wanders at night... I dream about the future and how I can make it better. What are dreams really though? Dream: A series of thoughts, images, and sensations occurring in a person's mind during sleep. I believe that dreams are a way of telling you what your heart really desires. Dreams push me to fight or believe in something that I know could happen because I've seen it....in a dream. Everything in the world that was ever created was in somebodys dreams whether they were a wake or sleeping it was still a dream.

COURAGE

Courage: Courage is not being afraid to stand up for what you believe in. When you have courage nothing can stop you. It's hard to be courageous sometimes, you might think that if you stand up for something that no one else will stand up for that you will be put down. When in reality everyone else is just afraid to stand up for just the same reason as you were. I for one get scared at times to speak my mind and stand up for what I believe because I don't want to be put down, eventually I'm going to have to get over that fear and jump into the deep end because I'll eventually figure out that I won't drowned.
